Greyhound’s relocation provides continued access to surrounding cities for community residents

DALLAS (Nov. 14, 2018) — Greyhound Lines Inc., the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in North America, has announced it will officially begin operating from its new location in Monroe, La. on Thursday, November 15.  Less than ten minutes from its previous location, customers can now board Greyhound from 207 Catalpa Street, in downtown Monroe, where they can then travel to destinations such as Jackson, Dallas, Shreveport and Houston.

Mayor Jamie Mayo says, “Throughout our negotiation process, our city administrative and legal team was thinking of the thousands of local passenger trips to and from Monroe each year.  Our goal was to work with Greyhound to find a way to keep this important mode of transportation in place for our residents and visitors.  We thank our City Council for giving final approval to Greyhound’s move to downtown Monroe.”

“Monroe’s location makes it perfect for quick day trips to locations like Shreveport and Jackson,” said Evan Burak, regional vice president, customer experience, Greyhound Lines, Inc. “We are thankful to the City of Monroe and the Monroe Transit System for assisting us in making that access even easier for the community.”

Sharing the facility with the Monroe Transit Transfer Station, customers will now have seamless access to local transportation. In addition, with six schedules offered per day, customers can access Greyhound’s network of 3,800 destinations as well as Greyhound’s package delivery service, GPX.
