The City of Monroe announces a temporary road closure on Washington St. at the intersection of Newcomb St. The closure will begin on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 7:00 am and the road is anticipated to reopen on Thursday, August 27, 2026 (weather permitting).

Mayor Friday Ellis is part of a proposed panel for South by Southwest (SXSW) 2027, a major international conference and festival focused on technology, business, innovation and culture.
