SUBJECT:      United Way of Northeast Louisiana Volunteers Unite to Install Born Learning Trails,
Enhance Three Ouachita and Lincoln Parish Parks, Thursday, June 28 & Friday, June 29

Monroe, LA — United Way of Northeast Louisiana is inspiring volunteers into action to create meaningful
impact, Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29, for Day of Action, an annual event that mobilizes the caring
power of volunteers to come together and create positive change in our community.

The first annual United Way Day of Action will unite volunteer employee teams to construct Born Learning Trails,
enhancing community parks. The United Way Born Learning Trail is a series of 10 interactive signs that offer fun,
active, learning activities for young children and their families. They help young children boost language, reading,
problem solving, and critical thinking skills, and inspire parents and caregivers to create quality engagement
opportunities with their children, while promoting increased physical activity in a fun, interactive way.

Day of Action activities are coordinated by United Way of Northeast Louisiana VolunteerUNITED and are sponsored
by generous community partners.
