Notice of Intention to Annex City Limits

NOTICE OF INTENTION

TO ANNEX CITY LIMITS

 

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a request to extend the City limits of Monroe as provided in Title 33, Section 172, to the Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended, is on file with the City Clerk of Monroe, Louisiana.  The request included the following described tract of land:

(This item was passed over at the June 25, 2019 meeting to be finalized at the July 9, 2019 meeting.)

 

WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by Waking Up, Inc for the annexation of ±7.22 acres, requesting that the City Council extend and enlarge the boundaries of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, to include said property within said boundaries, and

 

WHEREAS, the legal description of these properties is:

 

A lot in SW4 Sec 19 T17N R4E beginning 478 feet north of Richwood Road and fronting approximately 1317.04 feet on the east side of Highway 165, depth on RR north line being 225.33 feet and south line 225.34 (±6.9 acres)

 

And a lot in SW4 Sec 19 T17N R4E fronting 59.41 feet on east side Highway 165, depth 236.26 feet to RR into the City limits. (±.322 acres)

Notice is further given that no Ordinance enlarging the boundaries of the City of Monroe shall be adopted until ten (10) days after the publication hereof.  Anyone desiring to be heard with reference to the proposed extension of the City Limits shall notify the Clerk of the City of Monroe in writing prior to the adoption of the Ordinance, and a hearing will be granted.
