NOTICE OF INTENTION

TO ANNEX CITY LIMITS

 

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a request to extend the City limits of Monroe as provided in Title 33, Section 172, to the Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended, is on file with the City Clerk of Monroe, Louisiana.  The request included the following described tract of land:

 

 

WHEREAS, a petition has been filed by Kenneth Haynes (Scott Equipment Sales, LLC) for the annexation of ±1.5 acres, requesting that the City Council extend and enlarge the boundaries of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, to include said property within said boundaries, and

WHEREAS, the legal description of these properties is:

That certain tract of land located in Section 32, Township 18 North - Range 04 East, Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, having a Point of Beginning (P.O.B.) being a Found 1/2-inch (1/2") Iron Rod located at the intersection of the apparent Southerly Line of said Section 32 and the apparent Northerly right-of-way tine of the Kansas City Southern Railway, having coordinates of N: 728,863.01' E: 3,407,812 .45; being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at the Point of Beginning (P.0 .8 .) of the herein described tract: Thence a bearing of N 09°06'31" E, a distance of 214.65' to a Calculated Point and continue along said bearing, a distance of 130.81' to a Found 1/ 2-inch (1/2") Iron Rod; Thence a bearing of S 85°05'33" E, a distance of 368.45' to a Calculated Point at the intersection of the apparent Southerly line of said Section 32; Thence along the apparent Southerly line of said Section 32, a  bearing of S 53°43'18" W, a distance of 523.21' back to the Point of Beginning {P.O.B.), containing 1.457 acres.

 

And otherwise known as 2600 Booth Street. Parcel B

Notice is further given that no Ordinance enlarging the boundaries of the City of Monroe shall be adopted until ten (10) days after the publication hereof.  Anyone desiring to be heard with reference to the proposed extension of the City Limits shall notify the Clerk of the City of Monroe in writing prior to the adoption of the Ordinance, and a hearing will be granted.
