2400 lbs of Food Donated to Food Bank

Today, Mayor Jamie Mayo was joined by representatives from various City of Monroe departments to deliver 2,375 pounds of food and other items to the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana.

City employee community benevolence projects are listed as #12 on Mayor Mayo's "60 for 60" project list.  This is a list of projects Mayor Mayo shared during his 2016 inauguration, as those his administration, the city council and other partners will work together to create, continue or complete during his next four years in office.

Each year, Monroe City employees hold a canned food drive to benefit the Food Bank of NELA.  Over the course of the past decade plus, city employees have donated nearly 15,000 pounds of food.

Mayor Jamie Mayo says, "We continue to be so very proud of our employees for their compassion and support for our community."
