EMERGENCY ORDINANCE #11,932

STATE OF LOUISIANA

CITY OF MONROE                                                                        NO. 11,932                

            The following Ordinance was introduced by Mrs.  Ezernack                   who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Echols                        :

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE FAILURE OF ELECTRIC MOTOR #2 AT THE CALYPSO STORM WATER STATION AN EMERGENCY NECESSITATING IMMEDIATE REPAIR AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.

WHEREAS, Electric Motor #2 at the Calypso Storm Water Station failed during the severe rain storm on April 13, 2019, and is in need of emergency repair; and

            WHEREAS, Electric Motor #2 must stay operational to provide stormwater drainage to downtown Monroe including from St. Francis Hospital to the Civic Center; and

            WHEREAS, the repair will be made using funds from the Storm Water Repairs and Maintenance account.

            NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the failure of Electric Motor #2 at the Calypso Storm Water Station be and is hereby declared an emergency and in need of immediate repair.

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing and was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

            AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods, Wilson & Clark

 

            NAYS:            None.

 

            ABSENT:      None.

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  23rd   day of April 2019.
