EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

STATE OF LOUISIANA

CITY OF MONROE                                                                        NO.  11,921               

            The following Ordinance was introduced by Ms.  Woods                who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Mr.  Wilson                        :

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE REPAIRS TO THE DIESEL ENGINE AT THE HAWES STORM WATER STATION AN EMERGENCY NECESSITATING IMMEDIATE REPAIR AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.

            WHEREAS,   the diesel pump located at the Hawes Storm Water Station has failed and is in need of emergency repair; and

            WHEREAS, the Hawes station has one electric pump and the diesel pump is the station’s only backup, which it is now out of service as a result of a fuel line rupturing; and

            WHEREAS, the Hawes storm water station serves the area around Pargoud Drive and Grayling Lane and areas along South Grand over to Lee Ave.

            WHEREAS, the Ouachita River is at a high level requiring the Hawes storm water pump station to be operational; and

            WHEREAS, the cost of repairs will be charged to the Storm Water Pump Station’s Repairs and Maintenance account.

            NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, the diesel pump located at the Hawes Storm Water Station having failed and necessary to be operational as it serves the area around Pargoud Drive, Grayling Lane and areas along South Grand over to Lee Ave., is hereby declared an Emergency.

This Ordinance having been submitted in writing, introduced and advertised was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

AYES:            Ezernack, Woods & Wilson

NAYS:           None.

ABSENT:      Echols and Clark

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  26th   day of February , 2019.
