EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

STATE OF LOUISIANA

CITY OF MONROE                                                                        NO.  11,905               

            The following Ordinance was introduced by Mr.  Echols                             who moved for its adoption and was seconded by Ms.  Woods                         :

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE CONDITION OF THE MOTOR ON PUMP #1 AT THE HADLEY STREET SEWER PUMP STATION AN EMERGENCY NECESSITATING IMMEDIATE REPAAIR AND FURTHER PROVIDING WITH RESPECT THERETO.

            WHEREAS, the electric motor on Pump #1 at the Hadley Street Sewer Pump Station is in need of emergency repair work; and

            WHEREAS, Pump #3 was already down for repair and there are only three (3) pumps at the Hadley Street Sewer Pump Station leaving only one operational; and

            WHEREAS, the Hadley station handles sewer from Hadley St. to I-20 and as far north as Century Link, including almost everything northeast along 165 including the Mall; and

            WHEREAS, funds are available through the Sewer Department’s Repairs and Maintenance account.

            NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Monroe, Louisiana, in legal session convened, that the condition of Pump #1 at the Hadley Street Sewer Pump Station is hereby declared an emergency.

            BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that such emergency repairs as are necessary to repair Pump #1 at the Hadley Street Sewer Pump Station are hereby authorized and approved and the Mayor of the City of Monroe is authorized to enter into such contracts as may be necessary to complete the project.

            This Ordinance having been submitted in writing and was then submitted to a vote as a whole, the vote thereon being as follows:

            AYES:            Echols, Ezernack, Woods & Wilson

            NAYS:           None.

            ABSENT:      Clark

            And the Ordinance was declared ADOPTED on the  26th     day of December 2018.
