City Attorney Nanci Summersgill to Retire

WHAT: The media is invited to a brief reception in honor of longtime City Attorney Nanci Summersgill, who is retiring on February 28th , after nearly 32 years of service to the City of Monroe.

WHEN: 11 am Friday, February 23, 2018

WHERE: Monroe City Hall, City Council Chamber, 400 Lee Joyner Expressway. Hired in 1986 as an assistant City Attorney, Summersgill was the first female attorney to be part of the city’s legal team. She has worked for the past four administrations. Mayor Mayo appointed her as Monroe’s first female City Attorney in 2005. As City Attorney, she has been over both the civil and prosecuting divisions of the legal department.

An interim will be named at the Mayor’s Press Briefing next week.
