Mission Statement
The mission of the City of Monroe's Division of Parks and Recreation is to provide a variety of activities and programs to enhance the quality of life for area citizens and visitors through the use of our community centers and park facilities.

The Monroe Parks and Recreation Division is a division of the Community Affairs Department. It is divided into two components: (1) parks and playgrounds and (2) community centers. The rental fees for community centers and park shelters are as follow:

New Tennis Courts at Forsythe Park
Community Center Rental Fees
$25.00 per hour Monday - Saturday; $35.00 per hour Sunday
$75.00 refundable cleaning deposit
Call individual centers for details
Chennault Park Rental Fees
$50.00 per day for large shelters with restrooms
$25.00 per day for small shelters without restrooms
$75.00 refundable clean-up deposit
Special contract required for large events, e.g. concerts, car shows, more than 250 attendance, etc. Call 318-329-2439 for details and reservations.
Forsythe Park/Forsythe Point Rental Fees
One Shelter on the River, Bandstand in the Park, Picnic and Open Area(s), Volleyball Courts
$50.00 up to 4 hours (50 or fewer in attendance)
$75.00 up to 4 hours (51-150 in attendance)
$75.00 refundable clean-up deposit
Special contract required for events with attendance of more than 150. Call 318-329-2439 for details and reservations.
