MISSION STATEMENT
The Central Purchasing/Warehouse Division, a division of the Department of Administration, strives to provide all city departments and divisions with assistance in procuring equipment, vehicles, materials, tools, supplies, etc. needed for the efficient operation of the city of Monroe.
We further strive to stock and maintain in the Central Warehouse, items which are commonly used throughout the city of Monroe. Items stocked in the Central Warehouse include office supplies, janitorial supplies, raingear, etc.
RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
As the primary procurement source for the various departments and divisions within the city of Monroe, the Central Purchasing/Warehouse Division’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the items listed below:
- Conducting and/or Attending Pre-bid Conferences
- Assisting in Invitation to Bid (I.T.B.) Specification Writing
- Preparing Advertisements for Items to be Publicly Bid
- Conducting Public Bid Opening Conferences
- Soliciting Competitive Quotes
- Stocking and Operating the Central Warehouse

Q: How do I become a vendor with the city of Monroe?
A: By completing a Vendor Application. A Vendor Application may be obtained at our offices located at 1014 Grammont Street.
Q: How do I know when "Invitations to Bid (I.T.B.)" are being accepted?
A: All Invitations to Bid are listed in the classified section of The News-Star each Monday. If Monday is a legal holiday, the information pertaining to first time Invitations to Bid will appear in The News-Star the following Tuesday.
